The purpose of this website (a part of the Reflections in The WORD ministries) is to provide Bible study material and commentary to encourage, equip, and challenge Christians in their journey with Jesus. Therefore, we consciously aspire to be guided by the following principles:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16
and
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” ~ 2 Peter 1:20-21

In the healing of the ten lepers, only one returns to thank Jesus, highlighting the difference between merely seeking miracles and acknowledging the miracle worker. Jesus emphasizes that faith should focus on glorifying Him, not just on personal gain. True wholeness involves both physical and spiritual healing, which the grateful leper received.
God has promised strength for the day,
Rest for the laborer, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
The second thief had his eyes on God. He wasn’t seeking to escape his punishment. Rather, he confessed his sin, he accepted that God’s judgment was right. He asked not for escape, but for reconciliation. His heart was in exactly the right place, submitted to God. Therefore, his eyes were primed and ready to see The Son of God on the cross next to him.

God intends to bring us from humility into prayer, from prayer into communion with God and finally communion gives birth to repentance (mental renewal): a change in mindset allows us to turn from our “wicked ways”.
